Lead Pastor
Russ Wilson joined us in November 2007. He was previously the lead pastor in Terrace, British Columbia and before that had a long term ministry in Canmore, Alberta. Russ loves the challenge of communicating God’s Word in a creative and understandable fashion.
He enjoys long walks and strong coffee with his wife Sue.
Pastor of Music & Arts
Lorn Gieck joined our staff in February, 2000. He is a graduate of Prairie Bible College with a Bachelor of Sacred Music and Briercrest Seminary with a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry with a major in worship . He and his wife Janet bring great musical skill and enthusiasm to our congregation.
They have three children.
Director of Christian Education
After doing her internship in youth ministry here at Cornerstone, Mandy Nemanishen has come on staff to oversee the Christian Education department while Jessica Braun is on leave. Despite driving in an underpowered Smart Car, she still manages to bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the role. She has a tremendous passion to serve in the community.

Pastor of Youth Ministries
Stephen Thiessen joined our staff in August of 2006 after experiencing a year of youth ministry with us while on an internship from Briercrest College. He is an avid hockey fan that unfortunately cheers for a team that constantly looses. Thankfully, this doesn’t affect his life too much and his winning attitude and love for life is often on display.
Administrative Assistant
Kathy Janzen is the first person you’ll meet when you come to our offices. She has been the Administrative Assistant at Cornerstone Church since 1994 and is a valuable part of our team. She and her husband Sam are enjoying empty nest life.
Part Time Music & Arts – Creative
Angela Loback has joined us to assist with the creative aspect of our worship services. She studied at Rosebud School of the Arts in Rosebud, AB and is a very gifted actress. She has a great passion for the arts and can bring life to anything that is put before her. She and her husband Trevor are blessed with a beautiful boy, Benjamin.
Part Time Music & Arts – Technical
Josiah Sawatsky is taking over our technical department of Music & Arts while Darrell Braun is on leave. Josiah is a busy young man working part-time, finishing his grade 12 and playing bass on a worship team. He is a gifted musician and will be a great asset to our team.
