Finances

At Cornerstone Church, there are four categories to which your tithes and offerings are used to facilitate the work of God’s Church in our community and the world that we live in. We know that many Christians choose to give a portion of their tithes and offering to ministries outside the church and that has also been included in the personal giving planner as a category. This is where your tithe and offerings are used for the ongoing ministry of the church.

Category 1 – Ministry & Operations
Gifts used for the church’s ministries and programs, facilities maintenance and church administration.
Category 2 – Missions Home & Global
Gifts used for missions outreach programs in Saskatoon – including Para church ministries, student
university ministries, and local outreach – and around the world ministries.
Category 3 – Advisory Benevolence Fund
Gifts used for those in our congregations experiencing financial crisis or emergency need. It is also
used for those who may be struggling in our community. For help from this fund, you can approach
one of the pastoral staff or a member of the Advisory Board.
Category 4 – Special Offerings
These offerings are taken for special needs, short term missions teams, building projects,
possible larger community emergencies, supporting our interns pastoral staff. These offering will
be announced as such from the platform and you can designate your offering to the specific area.
Category 5 – Ministries Outside of Cornerstone Church
In planning your yearly tithes and offerings, please take into consideration commitments you have
made to ministries outside of Cornerstone Church, as the Bible does not require all tithes and
offerings to go to the local church.
